Ricardo was born in a simple religious family in a small village, Brazil 1993. His mom was an elementary teacher and his granny was taking care of him and the house. By the year 2011 he attempted to study Civil Engineering in the University of Rio de Janeiro, but soon he realized that what he really wanted was to create films, express his ideas through the moving image. In 2012 at the age of 18, he left his home and family and moved to New York City with the idea to achieve his dream, study films. He spent 2 years in New York developing his art portfolio and other projects. One of his favorite projects was a series of handcrafted mosaics, which was exhibited in a stone factory in NYC in 2014. While in New York he met his future wife, Russian artist Ekaterina Allenova with whom he developed many projects, including his short "Seré". Later that year he moved from New York City to Barcelona to finally go for his dream of becoming a filmmaker.
