A native of St. Louis, Father Bosco was educated at several religious institutions in Berkeley and went on to teach at the University of San Francisco, and Loyola in Chicago before settling at Georgetown University in D.C. He exemplifies the Catholic Jesuit tradition of using the intellect to explore the ramifications of spirituality in art and literature.Besides the expertise on Flannery O'Connor he brought to the documentary he co-directed on her, Bosco has also written on Graham Greene and the theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar. When he is not teaching or publishing, the priest oversees an important ministry of pastoral care at Georgetown University Hospital.
