Francesca Català graduated in Communication and Cultural Industries by the Universitat de Barcelona after spending six months at the University of Pennsylvania where she was fascinated by film editing. After studying editing in Escac she became interested in directing, and the school awarded her an scholarship to enroll their directing master, where she found out her vocation and filmed her first short film Bolina. The Book is her second short film.
