DJ, Producer and Filmmaker Paimon Alipour has produced a number of projects, ranging from musical albums to documentaries and short films. A second generation Iranian-American, Paimon was raised by immigrant parents in Iowa City, Iowa, a town that hardly possessed a market for music. Paimon started making music at 16 years old. Despite cultural pressures, he followed his passion for hip hop and decided to pursue a career in music. Influenced by artists like Drake, Travis Scott and The Weeknd, Paimon's style includes a range of genres such as R&B, Pop and EDM. In 2005, Paimon began DJing professionally and has since maintained a 12 year residency at the biggest bar in the Big 10, at one of the top party schools in the nation, as rated by Playboy Magazine. He has held past residencies at bars and clubs in Chicago, LA and Portland, and has performed at top venues in Chicago, New York, Miami, Austin and Seattle. Paimon's DJ skills have been sought after by corporate clients such as Victoria's Secret, Guess, Sephora, Vans and Lids. As a producer, Paimon's tracks and remixes are in rotation on popular radio stations like Kiss FM, Power 106 and Shade 45. His remixes have appeared on mixtapes for artists like Mike Posner, Nina Sky and Z-Trip. They were also some of the most downloaded tracks on top DJ Record Pools such as DJ City and Direct Music Service. In 2018, Paimon released his first album K.O.T.C., followed by his EP, Invite Only. He has over 90k streams on Apple Music and Spotify, as well as 2 million views on YouTube. Based out of his hometown in Iowa City, Paimon produced his first full length feature film in 2017. DJ Paimon: 100% is a documentary following the 36-year-old in the pursuit of his music career and overcoming the obstacles of small town and cultural expectations. The film won 4 awards and received 5 official selections to independent film festivals. Paimon recently released Soul De Selene, a full concept album and accompanying short film that he wrote, produced and scored. The film won awards from a number of independent film festivals, including Best Music Video at both the 2019 New York and Los Angeles Film Awards. Soul De Selene is out now on Apple Music and iTunes.
