Candice has always been involved in the communities she's lived, in and got into politics with a desire to be part of sustainable change for Hanworth and the wider Hounslow Community and to see residents enjoying a better quality of life, having a strong sense of pride about where they live and feeling part of something. Her professional background is in Young People's Public Health, Community Development and Youth Justice. She is currently undertaking a part-time Masters degree in Global Health. In May 2017 Candice was appointed to Cabinet with lead responsibility of Jobs, Skills and Opportunities, Equalities and Diversity and the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy (VAWG). She has enjoyed the greater responsibility and opportunity to champion Hounslow's fantastic adult and community education, provision for people wanting to get out of in-work poverty and improve their skills and our multi-disciplinary support for people experiencing domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls. With her councillor colleagues she has consistently provided a monthly surgery in the ward and had good attendance. She has undertaken a variety of case work supporting people with needs such as housing and homelessness, anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, issues related to HMOs, waste and recycling, neighbour disputes and issues with highways and footways. Candice and the rest of the Hanworth team have regularly attended Hounslow Highways wardabouts and estate inspections. They worked closely with residents to organise a back alley clean up, a garden clean-up project and a Great Big Get Together event in honour of Jo Cox MP
