Jesse Marquez De La Torre Jr. was born on March 16, 2004, in Montclair, California. As a young boy, he was inspired by his imagination and surroundings. The best way for young Marquez to express his thoughts would be through a visual standpoint. His desires were clear and simple; his process would be to think, draw, show. As Marquez' life progressed he began to see a larger world ahead of him. His parents supported his hobbies and gave him many opportunities to expand on his artistic talent. As of the summer of 2015, Marquez began his middle education at The School of Arts and Enterprise Middle School (The SAE) in the Downtown Pomona Arts Colony. There he expanded his visual artistic abilities into a digital medium. Learning photography, computer composition in software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, his passions ignited into a larger spectrum. On his eighth-grade year, young Marquez was exposed to the philosophical meaning of film. Inspired by filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, and Martin Scorcese he believes he can be a representation from the Latino-American Community among those big names. After purchasing his first DSLR film-camera Marquez began his early filmography with creating montages influenced by French films in the 1950s. That same school year he wrote and directed the first film ever, The Last Covenant (2018), with the support of The School of Arts and Enterprise. Produced by Robert Shields, Alfonso Ramirez, and Phil Miller. Marquez' directorial debut for a short-film was a triumph and unpredicted from a 14-year-old teenager. The Last Covenant earned its way to a theatrical release at The Covina Center for the Performing Arts during the Inaugural SAE Screenings. Also creating his own documentaries has broadened his scope of filmmaking. Currently, he resides in Ontario, California, and is a freshman Film-Major at The School of Arts and Enterprise High School. Marquez' highly anticipated upcoming short film Memoir Dust (2019) will focus on what it is to be human and philosophical questionings in that nature. Produced by Ryan Metzler, Robert Shields, and Phil Miller.
