Katy Lopaschuk

After moving from Montreal, Quebec to Seattle, Washington at the age of 7, Katy knew she loved making films. Whether it was stealing her Mom's cheap video cameras to film her barbie dolls or back in 2011 when her Dad bought his first Macbook and she became obsessed with the IMovie App. 12 years passed by as she grew up taking photography and video classes throughout middle and high school. She learned photo shop, premiere pro and fell even more in love with filmmaking. Watching all the other kids going to big universities and knowing that wasn't her path. She began searching film schools freshman year and stumbled upon Vancouver Film School and knew this was her calling. After graduating high school in June 2016 she applied for her dream school that September and was accepted to attend the following Fall. Until then she worked as a Hostess at a bar and cafe to save up to pursue her dream the following year. October 19th 2017, she made the big move up to Vancouver, BC and began her journey at Vancouver Film School.
