Katia Badalian

Katia is a Russian-American filmmaker born in New York. She graduated from Russian Academy of Theater Art in 2012 after which she moved back to NYC to direct an off-Broadway show called "Eyes Closed". The show was about New Yorkers and their sleeping dreams. Katia premiered Eyes Closed at Dixon Place Theater and led a successful Kickstarter campaign raising $20k to fund the show. Her short film "HEROINES" has premiered at SXSW in 2019 and has been released online via Short of the Week and is a Staffs Pick on Vimeo. Her main goal is to touch upon the subject that she's witnessed and experienced in life creating a unique style of nostalgia and post soviet ambiance.
