Nisha Sabharwal

Nisha Sabharwal is an author and movie producer. She has written multiple books several of which have already been made into movies and others which in the process of becoming full length feature films. She is a successful businesswoman from India who has a reputation of championing equality in all cultures. The central theme of her books and movies is portraying empowered women from traditional Indian affluent, prestigious and respected families who, despite the odds, triumph through cultural adversity breaking the glass ceiling of the respective period in history. She does this by leveraging her own sense of style, confidence and privileged upbringing in India with a wide range of stories passed down to her through generations of strong female lineage. Her feature, "Draupadi Unleashed" is premiering at the New York Indian Film Festival on May 9th (the festival where "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Monsoon Wedding" first caught the world's attention) and then goes to the Cannes March du Film 2019 the week of May 14th.
