Professional swimmer, Michelle Williams was born in Pretoria, South Africa. Growing up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she began taking swimming lessons when she was 8 years old. In 2014, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, from Ohio State University. While competing in the 2015 Pan American Games, she won a gold medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay event and took home a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. After retiring from competitive swimming in 2018, she went on to become a nurse. Michelle resides with her husband Guillermo Toro and their son, Jacob.
